My name is Francine Lopez. I have one child enrolled in Cortina and she is the reason I got involved as a PTO Board Member six years ago. I enjoy being active in our community with planning and volunteering at the school and as a result, I have come to meet some amazing families. I take pride in doing all I can to ensure that the students enjoy their educational experience and that the teachers and staff of Cortina Elementary are shown just how much they are appreciated.

I am a single mom and work full time. I am grateful to have the schedule I do, which allows me to volunteer as much as I can. My employer matches my volunteer hours ($10 for every hour) so this motivates me to stay active as a PTO volunteer. I have earned over $4000 for Cortina as a result of my volunteer time. I have served on the PTO Board for the last 6 years. I have held the positions of Volunteer Coordinator, Recording Secretary and President. This year will be my 4th and final year as PTO President. I am thankful to have had the opportunity to serve the Cortina community and this year will no doubt be extra special for my daughter Jade and me.
