PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

Message from the
PTO President
Hello Cortina Families.
My name is Francine Lopez and for the last six years I have served as a Board Member for Cortina PTO, I have served in the position of Volunteer Coordinator, Recording Secretary and the last four years I have been honored to serve as President. Cortina hasn’t just been a school, my daughter attended and it wasn’t just a place I volunteered; it became my family. This year as I prepare for my departure it is, without a doubt, an emotional one for me with every event this school year.
While my focus this last year has been to mentor, train and coordinate more behind the scenes items, the following board members have made me proud and have reassured me that the passion I feel in volunteerism is not alone
With this being said, I would like to take the time to recognize a few current Board Members who not only feel the passion I do when it comes to volunteering but as new members, have taken on our events with excitement from advertising, communicating and overall program implementation; Tawny Hall (Vice President), Toni Mead (Treasurer), Lindzie Head (Executive Secretary) and Riannon Bradshaw (Volunteer/Free Cash Coordinator). Each of these ladies has spent many personal hours spearheading the execution of our Family Fun Night, Daddy Daughter Dance, Mother Son Night and our upcoming Boosterthon Tiger Dash.
I would also like to recognize Kristi Welker (Spirit Committee) and Christin Koozer (Hospitality) for their participation with Spirit Friday implementation and hosting teacher luncheon events.
Did you know our Restaurant Committee is being led by Cortina teachers who also serve as Teacher Representatives on our board? I would like to recognize Melanie Martin, Lisa Burke and Michelle Steely for not only being educational role models to our students but for setting up our community restaurant nights as well.
I close by giving a huge THANK YOU to all of the parents, staff, administration who have supported me and our PTO over the years, you are what helps make this entity a SUCCESS. To the STUDENTS, you are what has made these last six years so much fun and I hope you not only remember me as the PTO lady with blue hair but that you remember the memories that we have made as a Cortina family along the way.
Thank you,
Francine Lopez
